System Overview

The Proxsys system was designed using a service oriented architecture which eases integration with other systems.  There are five separate views within the system.  These are described below:

Physician View

This screen allows the physician or office staff to input minimal patient demographic information regarding a prospective procedure or hospital admission.  An ICD-9 and CPT code must be selected.  A "medical necessity" check is built into the code database to ensure national Medicare coverage guidelines and LMRPs are met.

Information regarding insurance verification / pre-certification returns to the physician screen (read only format) so they may document their file. The physician or office staff may review previous submissions and determine their status in the pre-registration process by performing a date range search.

Proxsys Call Center View

This view contains five separate screens that capture the data necessary to pre-register the patient.  These screens are basic demographics, addresses, insurance verification and benefits, scheduling and pre-certification.  Medical information entered by the physician or staff cannot be edited by anyone other than the physician or designated staff.

Hospital View

This view allows hospital staff to search for a record, based on date or patient's name or social security number.  The hospital may view or print the information entered by the physician's office staff and Proxsys staff.

Certain data fields are also carried to a physician order form.  This is a static form which has the physician's electronic signature attached.  It is printed by the pre-registration staff to complete the patient's physical chart.

Physician Billing Staff View

This view allows designated individuals within the physician's billing staff to view the information necessary to bill the insurance company.

Record Views

Each time a user views a patient's record, the user's ID, date and time is captured and maintained.  This report may be viewed online or printed as needed.
